Last year, my best friend's eldest daughter wanted a birthday party in the spirit of True Blood. Of course, me and my husband were happy to oblige.
Luckily, her birthday is in September, so a lot of the Halloween props and goodies were already in stores. It would have been easy to go crazy with buying all kinds of Sookie-inspired stuff - but budget should always be a factor in these kinds of events. (Saves money for an awesome gift, no?)
With a little bit of planning and a whole lot of fun, my BF pulled off one hell of a party.
It's all about the details.
Despite our best efforts, neither Eric nor Bill were able to drop in for the big event (no matter how many creepy fan letters I sent to Alex Skarsgard).
Instead, we created an environment that would comfort any of the True Blood cast.
Red, black and white icing applied with a careful hand. |
My BF printed off these labels and bottled "vamp juice" - yummy! |
We also created signage in Fangtasia lettering, mixed up some blood burgers, and the birthday girl wore an awesome Merlott's t-shirt. True Blood played on the DVD player for most of the night. So much fun!
If you're planning a Halloween-inspired birthday party, there are some great resources online to help you with the details. To get you started, you can Google search ideas, or check out - you guessed it - Pinterest.
Happy planning of your monster bash!
23 sleeps until Halloweeen...
